Cold raw black metal album released by Drakkar. Tracks 3,6,8,9 where worth the listen.
The 20minute long track by Trist was a solid black metal piece. However I enjoyed Lonesummer much more on this album for all their black metal songs even though they where quite short they exemplified what Lonesummer are capable of and I have now grown interest in looking into that band.
Nightbringer did a great job on this split album. I enjoyed the eerie feel on the track “The Void”. As well the very haunting black metal track “Vir Sapiens Dominabitur Astris” that continues a 8minute journey through a haunted castle. Temple of Not was not black metal, but seemed to be a more haunting dark ambient project. They certainly where not in the likes of Elend. Nonetheless “The Sunkness Houses of Sleep” was the better of two tracks.
This release was on Napalm Records, so I was previously unaware before I put this into my system to listen to it that Napalm also releases EBM, Industrial styles. Anyway this CD caught me by surprise, it was generally a change of what I am use to hearing, and thus the CD stuck out in its sound. “Regret” was a recommended track.
The only worthwhile song on this album was by Nocturnal Depression “When Darkness Cover My Soul”.
I was not expecting much of this album until I put it in. The black metal contained on this album was worth the listen. My favorite track was the beginning minutes of “Sturm Der Katharsis”. The album was a solid black metal piece.
A very much recommended album in the ambient genre released by Red Stream.
